Don Richard Dickman

Mr. Don Richard Dickman, 70, Crawfordsville, passed away peacefully in his home at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 24th, 2017. He was born March 24th, 1947, in Crawfordsville, to Elmer G. and Margaret C. (Ward) Dickman.He married Julie Surber on January 14th, 1984, in Parkersburg. She survives.

Don was the Waveland Deputy Marshall and had also served as the Waynetown Deputy Marshall and as a Montgomery County Sheriff Department Reserve Officer.He had been an EMT in Indianapolis; a bus driver for the Lafayette School Corporation; the North Montgomery School Corporation; and the Lafayette City Bus System.He also worked Security at the Montgomery County Courthouse.He was a 1965 graduate of Crawfordsville High School.Don's life long interest and passion was Law Enforcement and serving his community.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons: Frank Dickman of Columbus, Indiana; and Steve Dickman of Crawfordsville.Also surviving is his brother: Jim (Teresa) Dickman, of Redington Shores, Florida; his sister: Sue Dickman of Lafayette; and his grandson: Grant Dickman of Columbus.He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 29th, at the New Hope Christian Church, 2746 US 231 South, with Pastors Alan Goff and Rick Fay officiating.
