Mr. Donald Deane Brown, 77, Crawfordsville, passed away Tuesday, May 5th, at 9:15 PM, in the Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville. He was born June 1, 1937, in Elmdale, to Charles H. and Inus M. (Haire) Brown. He married Martha J. Grimes on March 2nd, 1963, in New Market. She survives.

Mr. Brown in retired in 1999 after 44 years with RR Donnelleys, where he last worked in the Art Department. He was a 1955 graduate of Crawfordsville High School; a U. S. Army Veteran, spending 18 months in Germany; was a member of the Waynetown United Methodist Church; a member of the Crawfordsville American Legion Post #72 and the Crawfordsville Sons of the American Legion Squad #72; he was an avid Cubs and Bears fan, enjoyed NASCAR Racing and "Hoosier" basketball.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son: Michael, Crawfordsville; his daughter: Donna Brown (fiance"-Mike Wood), Rome, New York; brother: David F. (Joanne) Brown, Naples, Florida; sister: Patricia (David) Harris, Dale, Indiana; grandsons: Kelton and Trey Brown; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles.

A Public Graveside service is scheduled for 11:30 AM Saturday, May 9th, at the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery, with Revs. Johnny Booth and Dorman Winger officiating. A Veteran's Flag will be presented by a representative from the American Legion Post #72. The family will greet friends immediately following the graveside service at the Waynetown United Methodist Church, 124 E. Washington St. Powers-Priebe Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
