Donald Gene Davis

Mr. Donald Davis, age 72, of Waynetown passed away at 12:14 am Thursday July 13, 2017 while a patient at Witham Hospital, Lebanon, IN he had been ill for three weeks.

Don was born at Crawfordsville, In. on September 27, 1944 the son of Roy M. and Thelma M. (nee: Keys) Davis and grew up in the Waynetown area. He graduated from Waynetown High School class of 1963 and then served in the Army from July 1965 to July 1967 during the Viet Nam War. Don was a member of the Eagles of Crawfordsville, In. and the American Legion. He married Mary Bonebrake on June 5, 2000 and they loved to garden and go camping. He retired from RR Donnelly and Sons where he worked in the Bindery Div.

Don is survived by his wife Mary Davis of Crawfordsvile, In. Step-son: Steven Livingston of Waynetown, In. Step daughter Karen (husband - Bernard) Fitzgerald of Brownsburg, In. his brother Larry & Virginia Davis of Ft. Myers, FL. and his sister Linda Jarrad of Anderson, IN. He also has 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Sunday July 16th at Shoemaker Funeral Home 202 Bratton Rd. Waynetown, In. the family will receive guests from 12 noon until the services. Those who wish may make memorial donations to the American Lung Assoc. 115 W. Washington St. Ste#1180-S, Indianapolis, In. 46204. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
