Don Gravit, 88, of Crawfordsville left his earthly home Saturday evening to go to his longed-for home with his Savior and Lord. The family would like to thank Pastor Whicker and ViaQuest Hospice for their compassionate care during his last days.
Don was born in Greencastle, IN, the son of Roscoe and Etta Eulela Van Cleave Gravit. He is survived by Joan, his wife of 61 years, along with their two daughters, Lois (Matt) Dudley, Susan (Bruce) Lippold and three grandchildren, Alayah Lippold, Rachel Dudley, and Miciah Lippold.
Don was a Ladoga High School graduate, class of 1948, and attended DePauw University for four years. Following this, he served in the Army for two years, and was discharged as a corporal. Don began his printing career at Quality Printers in Ladoga, assuming a variety of roles over the years, specializing in linotype operation. Later, he worked in Carmel and Noblesville, finishing his career at Quick Copy in Crawfordsville.
Due to the incoming winter weather the visitation has been moved up to Friday, January 18, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at East Side Baptist Church, 2000 Traction Road, Crawfordsville, IN. The memorial service will follow immediately at 4:00 PM. Pastor Steve Whicker officiating.
