Donald Ray Miles, 76, Crawfordsville, passed away Wednesday (1/26) at 10:28 AM at the Waters of Greencastle. He was born April 19, 1934 in Tippecanoe County to Raymond C. and Genevive (Warrick) Miles. He married Jeanette Keller on May 17, 1958 in Crawfordsville. She survives.
Mr. Miles owned Don's Scavenger Service in Crawfordsville and also had worked for Bank One and Magic Lighting. He was a US Army Korean War Veteran. He attended New Market Schools. He was a member of the American Legion Post #72 and the First Baptist Church of Crawfordsville.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 1 son, Roger (Cathy) Miles, Crawfordsville; 1 daughter, Robin (Kevin) Frees, Mt. Pleasant, SC; 1 sister, Laura (Joe) Cunningham, Crawfordsville; 1 brother, Kenneth Miles, Arkansas. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, Richard, Ted, Marion, and Jim Miles; 2 1/2 brothers, Homer and Robert Cunningham; 4 sisters, Marie Haniford, Pat Cotten, Barbara Vannice, and Rosemarie Miles.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 29, at 3:00 PM, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, with Revs. Isaac Zull and Jim Ranard officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill North Cemetery, Crawfordsville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from Noon until 3:00 PM.
