Donald Edward Richards

Mr. Donald Edward Richards, 79, Crawfordsville, passed away Sunday, September 18th, at 9:34 AM, in the Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville. He was born September 23rd, 1936, in Crawfordsvillle, to Clarence Sr. and Mayme (Tibbetts) Richards. He married Marilyn Sue Peterson on October 5th, 1991, in Crawfordsville. She survives.

Don retired from RR Donnelleys where he worked in the Maintenance Department. He was a U.S. Army Veteran; a graduate of Alamo High School; attended the Alamo Christian Church; was a member of the American Legion Post #72 and the Moose Lodge; and in his free time enjoyed farming and gardening.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter: Monica (Donald) Turpin, Crawfordsville; his son: Anthony (Loreana) Richards, Ladoga; 5 step-children; grandchildren: Jessica (Kyle) Barnhart; Brian Richards; Marcus Turpin; Anthony Richards; and great grandchild: Gracie Barnhart. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers: Guy A. Richards and Clarence Richards, Jr.; and his sister: Mary Adams.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, September 23rd, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 AM until the service time. Military Rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the Crawfordsville VFW and American Legion Honor Guard and the U. S. Army.
