Donna Gentry

Mrs. Donna M. Gentry, 79, Crawfordsville, and formerly of New Market, passed away peacefully at 3:54 AM on Tuesday, December 9th, in the Ben Hur Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 29th, 1935 in Montgomery County to Harrison and Rena (VanCleave) Enoch. She married Harold R. Gentry on July 12, 1953, in Crawfordsville. He preceded her in death on June 20th, 2011.

Mrs. Gentry had retired as a Vice President and Loan Officer at Montgomery Savings and Loan, Crawfordsville, where she started in 1974. She was a 1953 graduate of New Market High School; a member of New Hope Christian Church; played in the Montgomery County Civic Band and in the North Port, Florida, Community Band; she sang with the "Gospellettes" for 43 years; and in her free time enjoyed traveling.

She is survived by her children: Dee (Dan) Booth, Crawfordsville; Dennis (Lisa) Gentry, New Market; Jeff (Debbie) Gentry, Indianapolis; and Gary (Becky) Gentry, Brighton, Michigan. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister: Wilderene Mardell Davis; her granddaughter; Annie Booth; and her great grandchild: Morgan Gentry.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday, December 12th, at New Hope Christian Church, 2746 U S 231 South, with Rev. Michael Whitacre officiating. Burial will follow in the Indian Creek Hill Cemetery, New Market. Friends may call at the church on Thursday, December 11th, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
