Dora B. Devitt, 90, Crawfordsville, passed peacefully from this Earth, at home with her family by her side on July 28th, 2015.

Dora was born September 26th, 1924, at Bismark, Illinois, to Lester Wyman and Pearl Mae (Austin) McCoy.

She graduated from Georgetown High School, Georgetown, Illinois, in 1944 and then attended Utterback and Brown Business College in Danville, Illinois. Dora married Max A. Devitt on September 1st, 1948, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Crawfordsville. She was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church; was a Past Madam President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles Lodge 1005, Crawfordsville and was a "Golden Age Eagle" at the Lodge.

She was a Homemaker for many years while raising five children and then returned to work at Dryer's Drug Store, the Eagles Lodge, and finally retiring from Zach's Family Restaurant in 1986. Dora was an accomplished Seamstress and tennis player and enjoyed traveling with her family all of her life.

Dora was preceded in death by her Parents; her Brothers: Charlie, Alvie, Clarence, Raymond, John, and Jerry, along with her sisters: Mae Stevens and Rosalea Smith. Her Daughter and Son-in-law, Peggy and Mike Michael are also deceased, as well as her special Niece: Grace Peelman.

Dora is survived by her Husband; two Daughters: Terri Devitt and Donna (Chuck) Leonard; two Sons: David (Ted Pearson) Devitt and Dennis (Bev Smith) Devitt, all of Crawfordsville. Dora had six Grandchildren: Jeff and Tony Michael; Michele (Miles) Stucky; Lucas Devitt; Jeremy (Angie) and Chelsey Leonard, along with three Great Grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 1306 E. Main St., Crawfordsville, on Saturday, August 1st, at 10:00 AM, with Fr. Christopher Shocklee officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Crawfordsville. Friends may visit with the Family at the church on Saturday from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM.
