Dorotha Hedrick

Dorotha M. Hedrick, 100, of Crawfordsville, formerly of New Market, passed away at 9:25 AM Saturday at her home. She was born on November 28, 1910 in Carlisle, Montana, to Thomas and Margaret (Douglas) Kelsey. She married Randolph Hedrick on March 16, 1933 in Crawfordsville. He preceded her in death in 1979.

Mrs Hedrick was a homemaker and had worked a short time at RR Donnelleys before her marriage. She attended Lapland, New Market, and Crawfordsville Schools. She was a member of the New Market Baptist Church and the Susan Harding Circle at the church. She also was a member of the Fifty Plus Club of New Market. In her free time she enjoyed tending her flowers.

She is survived by 3 children:Tom (Peggy) Hedrick, and Bob (Carolyn) Hedrick, both of Crawfordsville; Marilyn (Paul) Barker, Peoria, Arizona. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 13 great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and 5 brothers; Taylor, Walter, Roy, Emory, and Stanley Kelsey.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 4, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, at 10:00 AM. , with Revs. Ken Demlow and Jim Ranard officiating. Burial will be at the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday, February 3, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
