Mrs. Dorothy Onalee Fowler, 97, Crawfordsville, passed away in the I.U.-Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, on Tuesday,December 26th, 2017. She was born onOctober 17th, 1920, in Huron-Woonsocket, South Dakota, to Hershel Marquess and Ella Alvena (Burnison) Osborn.She married Elston Lee Fowler in Crawfordsville in 1945. He preceded her in death in 1963.

Mrs. Fowler had worked for 12 years at the Cambridge Inn and at Loebs for 10 years. She also had worked at Mallory's in Crawfordsville and had done home health care in the area.She was agraduate of Covington High School; attended the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago and the National Bible Institute in New York City, where she studied Missionary Medical Education. She had been active in Home Missions, through the Baptist Mid-Missions, serving the Spanish speakingpeople of Colorado. She had been a member of the Calvary Baptist Church/Pleasant View Baptist Church and currently a member of the Eastside Baptist Church in Crawfordsville. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, painting, and singing.

She is survived by her sons: Philip L. Fowler, Crawfordsville; David (Beth) Fowler, Crawfordsville; John M. Fowler, California;daughters: Celia Fowler, Fenton, Missouri; and Lynda Curtis,Chattanooga, Tennessee. Alsosurviving is her brother: Lowell M. (Betty) Osborn, Covington; 12 grandchildren; and 25great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister: Anna Lou Soey; her son-in-law: Roger Curtis; and her great-grandson: David Posid.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 AM Saturday,December 30th, at the Eastside Baptist Church, 2000 Traction Road, Crawfordsville, with Rev. Steve Whickerofficiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Grant Avenue Cemetery.Friends may call at the church onSaturdayfrom 9:30 until the service time. Powers-Priebe Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be sent to the Eastside Baptist Church.
