Dorothy J Johnson

Dorothy J. (Wigley) Griffin-Johnson, age 84, of Kingman and formerly of Montezuma, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. She was born in Eugene, IN on August 19, 1931 to the late Lewis Lee and Tlitha (Dugger) Wigley-Hinkle.

She attended Cayuga High School and on December 4, 1948 she married Jess Griffin, who passed in 1993. On May 28, 2000 she remarried Jake Johnson, who passed in 2009. Dorothy was a homemaker who enjoyed puzzle books, decorating houses, cooking, baking, loved looking for curtains at yard sales, and loved taking care of her dog, Baby Girl, her cat, Biscuit, and of course her friend, Merle.

She is survived by her friend, Merle Hickman of Kingman; two sons, Mike (Tamalee)Griffin of Crawfordsville and Rick (Lynn) Griffin of Tangier; two brothers, Robert (Patty) Hinkle and Mike (Rhonda) Hinkle; four sisters, Linda Carter, Diana McBeth, Sue (Bud) Myers, and Nancy (Mike) Grimes; several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Jess Griffin and Jake Johnson; son, Steve Griffin; two sisters, Joan and Elsie; and a great grandson, Shawn.
