Dorothy Lough

Mrs. Dorothy Eloise Lough, 90, Darlington, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, at 7:30 PM at the Williamsburg Healthcare, Crawfordsville. She was born April 9, 1922, in Indianapolis, to L.L. and Moree (Craig) Martin of Darlington. She married Donald Brown Lough, November 21, 1945, in the Darlington United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death.

After graduating from Darlington High School in 1940, sh attended Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, Indianapolis, and was employed by Central Normal Teachers College in Danville, Indiana. She later transferred to St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Lafayette, graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1945. She was a Registered Nurse with Culver Union Hospital, Crawfordsville, for many years. Following retirement, she continued to be an active member of the Darlington United Methodist Church, serving in many capacities, including organist and chairman of various committees. In her free time she enjoyed sewing, crafts, knitting, and crocheting.

She is survived by her three children: Theresa Lough, Lafayette; Martin (Sue) Lough, Lafayette; and Gayle (Debbie) Lough, Darlington. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren: Paul (Holly) Lough, Lafayette; Mitchell (Kelly) Lough, Stockwell; Grant and Ginny Lough, Darlington; one great granddaughter: Eloise Marie Lough, Lafayette; a sister: Thelma Tomlinson, Wasilla, Alaska. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister: Mary Esther Briedenbach.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 5, at 1:00 PM at the Darlington United Methodist Church, 201 Harrison St., Darlington, Indiana, 47940, with Rev. Bryan Langdoc officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday, from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Burial will be at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, in Darlington.
