Dorothy “Dot” Mae (Thompson) Weir, age 82 of Crawfordsville passed away gracefully on Wednesday, January 09, 2019 at home while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Crawfordsville on May 24, 1936 to the late Harry E & Louise (Leonard) Thompson.
Dorothy graduated from Alamo High School in 1954 and on June 6, 1954 in Yountsville, she married the love of her life, Bernard Lee Weir, who survives. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and enjoyed going fishing and camping with her family. She loved to garden, spend time outdoors, watching sports, especially the Pacers and Colts, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the Whitesville Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bernard; three daughters, Christine (Mike) Zimmerman of Waveland, Cheryl Yeager of Zionsville, and Peggy (Brad) Paddack of Linnsburg; sisters, Ruth Ann Hallett of Crawfordsville, Connie Rutledge and Lora (Max) Nichols, both of Alamo; sister-in-law, Becky Thompson of Crawfordsville; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Aaron Zimmerman; a brother, John Thompson; son-in-law, Sam Yeager; and brother-in-law, Larry Rutledge.
