Earl Luzader

November 11, 1916 — February 1, 2018

Mr. Earl L. Luzader age 101, of rural Crawfordsville, IN. passed away at Wellbrook Nursing Home Thursday evening February 1, 2018, with his family by his side. Earl was born November 16, 1916 in Montgomery County to William Harry and Myrtle(Payton)Luzader.
He graduated from Alamo High School in 1934. Earl was employed by R.R. Donnely and sons, Allisons of Indianapolis, Raybestos, and was a City Letter Carrier in Crawfordsville for 22 years. He also farmed in Indiana and Alabama. He also built fence for Sears in his spare time.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, puzzling, playing cards and gardening. He was a member of the Alamo Masonic Lodge for almost 80 years and Alamo Eastern Star for over 75 years. He was a Boy Scout Master and Assistant District Commissioner. He was a 4-H Director for Ripley Township from 1966-1977. He was also a member of Alamo Christina Church where he served as an elder and served in the Naval Submarine Service during World War II.
Earl was married to Madge A. Hudson on January 2, 1937. She preceded him in death in 1989. He later married Waunita Slavens in 1992 and she preceded him in death in 1995.
Earl leaves behind 1 daughter, Katherine Joan "Jo" Davidson (Bob) of Franklin, NC., 2 sons, EGene "Butch" (Pat) of Crawfordsville and Richard V. "Rick" (Diana) of Cape Coral, FL.; 6 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 8 step-great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, 2 brothers-in-law, 1 sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and brother, William Luzader.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Waynetown with Military rites being conducted and Pastor Dorman Winger and Pastor Frank Phillips officiating. Internment will be in the Alamo Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 Monday at the funeral home with Masonic rites conducted at 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alamo Christian church.
