Eddie Leon Carpenter

Mr. Eddie Leon Carpenter, age 71, of Crawfordsville, I passed away at 4:24 am Thursday June 19, 2014 at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, IN. Eddie was the son of Ira DeWitt Carpenter and Mildred Ruth Keller Carpenter and was born in Fountain County, IN on July 14, 1942. He attended school at Wallace and Marshal, IN. and graduated from Turkey Run High School. Edie was a gun collector and loved to target shoot. He also had a life long love of horses. Eddie was retired from R.R. Donnelley and Sons as a hoist driver.

Eddie married Marsha Fruits on July 22, 1967 and she survives him. He is also survived by two sons: Alan Ray Stewart of Rockville, IN. and Eric Jason Carpenter of Crawfordsville, IN. Four daughters: Michelle Wright of Waveland, IN.:Lynnette Carr of Covington, IN.; Brenda Pearman o Hillsdale, IN. and Monica Carpenter of Glendale, AZ. He is also survived by on brother, Dwayne Carpenter of Rockville,IN and 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren . He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 1 great grandchild.

A private family funeral service was held at 1:00pm Saturday June 21, 2014 at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Waynetown, IN. Burial was in Indian Creek Hill Cemetery.
