Edna Lucille Barton

Mrs. Edna Lucille Barton, age 94, formerly of Waynetown passed away at Hickory Creek Nursing Home on Friday morning December 9th. Edna was born on December 17, 1921 in Boone County Indiana the daughter of Otis Earl Ray and May (ne: Farris) Ray and was raised and attended school in the Advance area. Edna and Charles H. Barton were married on September 27, 1937 in Indianapokis and raised four children in the Waynetown community. A busy lady and hard worker Edna worked as a laborer at Plasteen in Crawfordsville, In and was a cook at the Cambridge Inn at the Crawfordsville Mall and retired from Walmart as a cashier at the age of 81. She is survived by her children: Harvey (wife- Carol) Barton, Larry Joe (wife-Sharon) Barton of Crawfordsville, In. Daughter Evelyn Swank of Waynetown and Joyce birge of Veedersburg, In. She also has one brother George Ray of California, 10 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Edna was predeceased by her parents, husband on April 16, 1986, her daughter Clara Jane, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral services for Edna will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday December 13th at Shoemaker Funeral Home, 202 Bratton Rd, Waynetown, In. with the Rev. Ron Raffignone officiating. burial will follow in the Old Union Cemetery north of Waveland, In. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the services on Tuesday.
