Edna Grace (Thomas) Pugh Purcell, age 83, of Tangier passed away at 12:30 am on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the Rockville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Fairview, IN on December 9, 1930 to the late John & Eliza (Vickery) Thomas.
Edna graduated from Tangier High School and married the late Gene Norman Pugh on September 14, 1948, who preceded her in death on October 10, 1974. She was a hard working farm wife, farmer, and mother. She loved to quilt, sew, knit, and enjoyed working with her cattle. She was always there for her children and family. She attended the Mt. Hermon Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Rick) Griffin of Tangier; son, Rod Pugh of Cayuga; brother, Kenneth (Nancy) Thomas; sister-in-law, June Thomas; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grand-children.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Gene, brother John, son Randy, daughter Glenda, and grandson Gene Raymond.
