Mrs. Elanda L. Perdue, 82, Columbus, Indiana, formerly of Crawfordsville, passed away Thursday, May 9, at 10:07 AM in Columbus. She was born September 26, 1930, in Bluffton, Indiana, to Hershel D. and Zola M. (Baker) Weikel. She married Frederick S. Perdue on May 28, 1949, in Ft. Wayne. He preceded her in death in 2006.

Mrs. Perdue was a Homemaker; a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church; was sealed to her husband and children in the Salt Lake City, Utah, Temple; was very active in her church and in the community; was an active genealogist; enjoyed sewing, cooking, and gardening.

She is survived by her children: Damon E. Perdue, Salt Lake City; Dalene D. Perdue, Pueblo, Colorado; Dalynn P. (Tony) Shipley, Columbus; Debra A. Imel, Blanding, Utah; sisters: Zeta Jennings, Ft. Wayne; Carolyn Lawson, Clearwater, Florida; brother: Ray H. (Ruth) Weikel, Ft. Wayne; 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Kenneth, Norma Dean, Denver, Byrena, Bessie, Armendou, Darwin, and Clellah.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 14, at 11:00 AM, in the Crawfordsville Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 125 W. and Oak Hill Road, with Bro. Lou Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill North Cemetery. Friends may call at the Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be sent to: The Alzheimer's Association, 9135 N. Meridian St., B-4, Indianapolis, IN 46260 or to your local Hospice Facility
