Mrs. Elda Lou Howard, 79, Crawfordsville, passed away with her family at her side on Saturday, May 11, at 2:55 PM in the Williamsburg Healthcare. She was born August 28, 1933, in Burkesville, Kentucky, to Herby D. and Mary P. (Bruton) Davidson. After the death of her mother, she was raised by her grandparents: Henry and Minnie Bruton of Glasgow, Kentucky. She married Edward C. Howard on March 5, 1951, in Railton, Kentucky. He survives.

Mrs. Howard was a devoted Mother and Homemaker. She attended Barren County, Kentucky, schools; was a member of the Englewood Church of Christ, Crawfordsville; enjoyed antiquing, music, and being with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Carolyn (Joseph) Sowder, Indianapolis; Anita (Rick) Oliver, Columbianna, Alabama; James (Deann) Howard, Crawfordsville; Mark (Valerie) Howard, Crawfordsville; Brian (Tammie) Howard, Villa Rica, Georgia; and Timothy (Laurie) Howard, Crawfordsville. Also surviving is her brother: Bob (Joan) Davidson, Franklin, North Carolina; sister: Ann (Richard) McCloud, Linnsburg; 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, infant sister: Adonna Davidson; and grandson: Joseph Sowder.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 15, at 11:00 AM, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Pastor Jeff Paschall officiating. Burial will be in the Mace Community Cemetery.
