Elizabeth Eads

Mrs. Elizabeth June "Betty" Eads, 87, Crawfordsville, passed away Monday, November 24th, at 9:06 PM, in the Ben Hur Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on June 8th, 1927, in Crawfordsville, to Arthur L. and Margaret B. (Proctor) Zachary, and was a lifelong resident of the Goosenibble area. She married William Gilbert "Gib" Eads on June 3rd, 1950, in Greencastle. He preceded her in death on March 12th, 1999.

Mrs. Eads had worked as a Cook for the Ben Hur Home before her retirement and had also worked for a short time at R R Donnelleys. She attended Crawfordsville Schools; was a member of the Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church in Crawfordsville; a member of AARP; and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading, and her roses.

She is survived by her children: Dale Eads; Peggy S. Childers; and Gloria Jean Eads, all of Crawfordsville. Also surviving is her brother: Glenn R. (Rheta) Zachary, Campton, New Hampshire; grandchildren: WIlliam Terry Childers; Beth (Jason) Summers; Sarah (Jordan) Dalton; great grandchildren: Cory, Jake, Josh, and Carly Summers, and Austin Cornett. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her son: Arthur Earl Howard; her sister: Barbara J. Nicholson; and her grandson: Jason Z. Childers.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, November 29th, at the Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church, 4636 Fall Creek Road, Crawfordsville, with Father Alexis Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill North Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday, November 28th, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.
