Elizabeth L Holt

Elizabeth "Betty" L. (Grider) Holt, age 73, of Kingman and formerly of Michigantown passed away at 2:04pm on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Indianapolis, IN on June 24, 1942 to the late Dallas and Lou (Hinds) Grider.

Betty graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1960 and on August 6, 1960 she married the love of her life, Richard E. Holt, who preceded her in death on December 21, 2012. Throughout the years Betty was a homemaker and worked in the cafeteria at Kokomo Schools, was a cook at Green Tree Assisted Living in Kokomo and worked at the Crawfordsville Sewing Factory. She was a member of the Kingman Christian Church, Eastern Star, Red Hat Society, Mother of Rainbows and enjoyed sewing, cooking, ceramics, and she played the drums with Richard in the band.

She is survived by three sons, Richard (Carol) Holt of New Ross, Wayne (Marta) Holt of Noblesville, and Kevin (Janelle) Holt of Tipton; three daughters, Terri (Glynn) Power of Princeton, Amy (James) Rawlinson of Cicero and Michelle Holt of Moline, IL; one brother, Jim (Genie) Grider; four sisters, Tillie McDaniel of Darlington, Dee Debolt of Florida; Linda VanArsdol of Indianapolis and Sandra Ki of New Mexico; 11 grandchildren, Mandee, Jessica, Stacey, Jeremaih, Samantha, Corey, Summer, Heather, Cassidy, Taylor and Victoria; and 11 great-grandchildren, Blake, Kaden, Peyton, Conner, Madison, Presley, Kaelynn, Kaylea, Brittany, Axel and Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; brother Jack; and great grandchild Brody Power.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 5, 2015 from 3-6pm at the Kingman Christian Church, 123 W State Road 234, just east of Kingman. The funeral service will be Monday, July 6, 2015 at 11:30am at the church with Coy Overpeck officiating. Cremation will follow.
