Ella Louise (Northcutt) Servies

E. Louise “Lou” (Northcutt) Servies, age 98 of Crawfordsville passed away on February 8, 2020 at Brownsburg Meadows in Brownsburg, IN. She was born in Crawfordsville on August 17, 1921 to the late Orville Jake & Flo Ana (Miller) Northcutt.

Lou attended Crawfordsville schools and on September 23, 1944 she married Edward Servies, who preceded her in death on April 17, 1980.

Lou was a hard worker and started working at the young age of 12 cleaning homes for 50 cents a week. She worked and retired from R.R. Donnelley’s after 35 years. She enjoyed singing, gardening, attending stock car races, and watching NASCAR and the Indy 500. She loved people, loved socializing, and had many friends throughout the years.

She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Hallett; four step children, Max (Nancy) Servies, Richard (Carol) Servies, Lois Hybarger, and Mary Murach; two grandchildren, Robert Hallett and Debbie McMurtry, a great-granddaughter, Katrina Hendricks; a great-grandson, Caleb Hallett; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward Servies; her granddaughter, Luanne Hallett-Hendricks; great granddaughter, Heather Hendricks; and two brothers William (Evelyn) Northcutt and Donald (Alma) Northcutt.

Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S Washington St, in Crawfordsville on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 from 12:00pm till the time of the funeral service at 2:00pm with Pastor Dan Aldrich officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill North Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in her memory to the Animal Welfare of Montgomery County, 1104 Big 4 Arch Rd, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.
