Ellene Gill

Mrs. Ellene J. Gill, 81, Greencastle, formerly of Crawfordsville, passed away Sunday, September 23, at 7:20 PM in the Putnam County Hospital, Greencastle. She was born June 7, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, to William Frederick and Marcella Dorothea (Warman) Sheets. She married James F. Gill, June 9, 1956, in Crawfordsville. He preceded her in death in 2007.

Mrs. Gill was retired from R R Donnelleys, where she had worked in the Bindery Department. After retirement, she worked for the Indiana Printing Co., Crawfordsville. She was a graduate of New Market High School and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church, Crawfordsville.

She is survived by her daughter: Gail (David) Gross, Greencastle, and her son: David (Naomi) Hampton, Crawfordsville. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers.

A public graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 27, at 11:00 AM, at the Indian Creek Hill Cemetery, Highway 47 S., New Market. There will not be any visitation.
