Emogene Kenny

Emogene America Kenny, 79, of Crawfordsville, passed away Wednesday, July 6, at 2:15 PM at Franciscan St. Elizabeth, Crawfordsville. She was born November 9, 1931, in Veedersburg, to Walter and Mamie (Hoover) Howard. She married Charles Wesley Kenny on November 25, 1950, in the home of her uncle, Rev. Charles E. Howard, in Sterling, Indiana. Her husband preceded her in death on January 26, 2011.

Mrs. Kenny retired as the secretary for the Crawfordsville United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Covington High School and was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Crawfordsville.

She is survived by her daughter: Paula Oshier; sons: Bradley Gene (Sharon) Kenny and Roger Dale (Phyllis) Kenny, all of Crawfordsville. Also surviving are 3 brothers: Othel Howard, Velmar (Sylvia) Howard, and Ron (Caroline) Howard, all of Veedersburg. There are also 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild surviving. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and 2 brothers.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 9, at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church, 1905 Lebanon Rd., Crawfordsville ( State Road 32 E.), with Rev. James Ranard officiating. Cremation was selected with Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, Crawfordsville, assisting with those arrangements.
