Mrs. Enid "Betty" Livengood, age 92, of Wallace, In. joined her husband and son in Heaven on Sunday morning July 2, 2017 while a resident of Hickory Creek Nursing HOme at Crawfordsville, In.
A WW II war bride, Betty was born on September 11, 1924 in London, England to Sidney and Alice Harvey Smith and received her primary and secondary education in England. While he was stationed in England Betty met Forrest "Lex" Livengood and they were married on July 7, 1945 at the parish church of Bray in Berkshire, England. Betty then joined her husband in the states coming through New York on March 4, 1947. They settled near family in Wallace, In. and raised their children. Through the years Betty worked as a pie baker at the Mustang Room Resturant in Veedersburg, In. and then as a cook at the Wallace General Store resturant fist for Richard Callins then Keddy Sowers, Jane Rahn Swank and Tony and Linda Shuman before retirment.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Jane (Walt) Foxworthy of Kingman, In.; Debra (Shannon) Ingram of Crawfordsville, In. and her daughter in law Diana Livengood of Hillsboro, In. She will be greatly missed by her 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and her great great granddaughter. Betty was preceded in death by her family of England, her husband Lex in 1985 and her son Gary in 2009.
It was Betty's desire to be cremated and then to have a private family service at a later date. Shoemaker Funeral Home of Waynetown, IN. thanks the Livengood family for asking us to assist them in carrying out her wishes.
