Erma D. Wilson

Mrs. Erma Dee Wilson, age 95, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter Thursday morning March 6th, 2014.

Erma was born on April 7, 1918 in Crawfordsville, IN., the daughter of Walter C. and Lona Frances (Conover) Huffman and was raised in Darlington, IN. Erma graduated from Darlington High School in1936 and worked at he Wilson Shirt Factory in Crawfordsville, IN. She married John M. Wilson on September 20, 1943 and they lived in Fountain, Montgomery, Bartholomew and Hendricks counties during their 57 years of marriage. John preceded her in death on January 1, 2001

A talented seamstress Erma made all of her children's clothing while they grew up, and even did custom tailoring for individuals, school organizations such s bands and cheerleading and wedding party's. As a child Erma was raised in the Quaker Church but at various times attended the former Wingate Methodist Church and the Friends Church in Danville, IN.
In her younger years she enjoyed participating in the Home Demonstration Clubs, Eastern Star, an Square Dance Clubs in the areas they lived.

Erma is survived by one son: Robert Paul (wife-Kathy) Wilson of Terre Haute, IN. one daughter: H. Sue Wilson of Avon, IN. one sister: Mrs. Jeanette Ezra of Crawfordsville, IN., 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Barton Jay Wilson and one brother: Robert Allen Huffman.

The Family wishes to thank her "Angel Lori" for the wonderful and loving care an all of the hours that she gave to Erma.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am Monday March 10th, 2014 at Shoemaker Funeral Home with Dr. Dan Willis officiating. Burial will follow at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 10 am Monday until the services. Those who wish may make memorial donations to the Hendricks County Senior Center, P.O. Box 448 Danville,IN. 46122.
