Esther Bryant passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital East, in Lafayette,In on September 26, 2015.
Esther was born July 11, 1919 living near Wallace, In. in her youth. After graduating from Wallace High School she attended Danville Business School before marrying Maurice Bryant. Esther lived in several communities during her life including Yedoo, Lafayette, Wallace, Hillsboro and Waynetown In.
Esther worked at home as most of her generatin did while raising three sons. When the "boys" were old enough she worked outside the home to supplement the family income. She retired after working at Loeb"s of Lafayette for several years.
Esther moved back to the Lafayette communities before retirement. She often spoke fondly of the relationships she had with friends and neighbors in the Lafayette area who shared in her life experiences.
Esther was busy in her retirement years. she attended church in the Lafayette area, loved the Ruth Circle Group experience, traveled with family, made sure "Homemade quilts" or "Crochet afghans" got to family and friends and was recognized as the quite poet.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband Maurice, her oldest son Richard and three adult siblings, Bernice Fullenwider, Kenneth Carlyle and Barbara Keller.
Surviving Esther are two sons, Ronald and Edwin Bryant as well as three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Despite a long period of illness Esther was able to stay in her own home. Special thanks is given to Esther's special friends and neighbors, Joyce Bryant, the St. Elizabeth Hospice Team and Home Instead Senior Care.
Funeral services will be at Shoemaker Funeral Home, 202 Bratton Rd. Waynetown, In. on Wednesday September 30, 2015 at 3:00 pm.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until the services at 3:00pm on Wednesday. Burial will follow at the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
