Esther Marie Ross

Esther Marie Ross was called home to heaven Saturday morning. She has resided at Ben Hur Health Care for several years. Prior to that, she spent most of her life residing in Parkersburg and was a member of Parkersburg Christian Church.

She was born the 8th child to Lawrence James and Elizabeth Ruth Whitson Kelly on January 31, 1934. She married Robert C. (Rosco) Ross on May 15, 1954. Bob passed away on Mar 25, 2002. They were blessed with 3 children, Stanley Ross (Linda) of Crawfordsville, Darrell Ross (Mary Lee) of Union, Missouri and Sharon Bell (Jon) of Parkersburg; 5 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

Surviving siblings are Marvin Kelly (Joyce) of Roachdale and Wilma Reed of Crawfordsville, Sister-in-laws Sue Kelly of Russelville and Mary Lou Kelly of Ladoga as well as many nieces and nephews.

Bob and Esther owned Bobs Bait Box at Parkersburg for many years. Esther was often heard making the statement “Bob has worms.” They filled their days as the gathering place for the community, and the coffee was always on. If you needed to know if the fish were biting, who was sick and needed help or how the planting was going, Esther was your go to person. Her happiest days were spent serving her family, church and community.

Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S Washington St, in Crawfordsville on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from noon till the time of service at 2:00pm.
