Mrs. Ethel Jeannine French, 86, Westfield, Indiana, and formerly of Waveland, passed away peacefully in her daughter's home on Monday, February 15th, at 7:45 AM. She was born August 9th, 1929, in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, to Wilbur Joseph and Virginia Aileen (Burnham) Schmall. She married Earl Junior French on November 19th, 1952, in Waveland. He survives.
Mrs. French had been a Bookkeeper for Indiana Bell Telephone; was a Teller for Elston Bank, First National Bank, and Bank One; and was a Homemaker. She was a 1947 Graduate of Waveland High School; a member of the Browns Valley Christian Church; attended the Mace United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School; and in her free time enjoyed knitting and her flowers.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter: Paula French, Westfield. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister: Evelyn Schmall.
A Public Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, February 20th, at 2:00 PM in the Oak Hill North Cemetery, 392 W. Oak Hill Rd, Crawfordsville, with Pastor Melody Merida officiating. There will not be a visitation at the funeral home. Powers-Priebe Funeral Home is assisting with services.
