F. David Will, 72, passed away on August 6, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on February 18, 1951, to Floyd and Mary Ellen (Shrimplin) Will in Crawfordsville.
David was a 1969 graduate of Crawfordsville High School. He loved music with a passion and played guitar and sang with different bands in the area. He had this quote printed on his business cards: "God gave us music that we might pray without words." David was an avid reader, deep thinker and possessed a wisdom that came through during conversations. He was a private man, but filled with compassion for animals, especially cats. If he had chosen any last words they may well have come from one of his favorite artists, Jerry Garcia: "Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see. Lately it occurs to me what a long, strange trip it's been."
David is survived by 2 siblings, Cindy (Steve) Meyer of Crawfordsville and John Will, also of Crawfordsville. He is predeceased by his parents and a nephew, Henson Meyer.
Cremation was chosen and Sanders Priebe Funeral Care has been entrusted with the arrangements. Donations can be made in David's name to the Montgomery County Animal Welfare League, 1104 Big Four Arch Road, Crawfordsville. Share memories and condolences at www.SandersFuneralCare.com.
