Fern (Huffman) Frazier, age 96, of rural Kingman went to be with her Lord and Savior at 2:14am, Friday, May 23, 2014, at the Vermillion Convalescent Center in Clinton.
She was born on April 27, 1918 in Parke County to the late Frank and Gladys (Jones) Pierce. On December 24, 1933 she married Samuel C. Huffman, who preceded her in death on March 17, 1978. She later married Roy Frazier, who passed away May 24, 1991.
Fern is survived by and was a proud parent of four children: Dr. Samuel (Marjorie "Midge") Huffman of St. Paul, MN; Shirley (Gordon) Shoaf of Kingman; Stanley (Della) Huffman of Champaign, IL; Raymond (Karlina) Huffman of Kokomo; 12 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and 4 step great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Fern retired from Sommers Metal Craft in Crawfordsville and worked many years as a cook at the Kingman High School. She was a member of the Millcreek Home Ec Club, Kingman American Legion Auxiliary, Senior Citizens Club, Birthday Club, and the Rebecca Lodge. She was a member of the Kingman Christian Church and Ladies Aide.
She enjoyed her home and caring for it. Mowing, gardening and flowers were never a chore for her.
Visitation will be from 12-2pm, Monday, May 26, 2014 with the service at 2pm at the Kingman Christian Church, 123 W State Road 234 in Kingman with John Bowling officiating. Burial will follow at Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Kingman Christian Church. Sanders Funeral Care entrusted with care.
