Fern M. Sharver

June 12, 1925 — February 3, 2016

Mrs. Fern M. Sarver, age 90, of Waynetown passed away on Wednesday February 3, 2016 at the Franciscan St. Elizabeth Hospital in Crawfordsville, IN., following a short illness. Fern was born near Waynetown on June 12, 1925 on the homestead farm. The daughter of Virgil R. and Gertrude Elizabeth Dillard Pierce and graduated from Waynetown High School. Following her graduation she married Richard Sarver and they set up house keeping in Waynetown where they raised their sons. Richard passed away at a young age on October 17, 1972 and there after Fern supported herself and family as the local "Avon Lady" and worked in that compacity until she became the oldest representative of the company in Indiana. Fern was a life long member of the Waynetown Baptist Church and was very active in the church and the Waynetown American Legion Auxillary.

Fern is survived by her sons; Ronald and Nancy Sarver of Crawfordsville, IN., and Gary and Patricia Sarver of Crawfordsville, IN. She has one sister; Mrs. Mary McCormick of Waynetown and 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers.

Funeral services for Fern will be held at 2:00p.m. Saturday February 6th at Shoemaker Funeral Home 202 Bratton Rd. Waynetown and will be officiated by Rev. Ron Raffignone and Rev. Jeremy Sarver and Ron Sarver. The family will receive guest from 11:00 a.m. Saturday until the services at 2:00p.m. Burial will follow in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial donations to the Waynetown Baptist Church Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
