Mr. Francis L. "Frank" Hightower, 71, Crawfordsville, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, February 26, at 11:00 AM. He was born September 24, 1942, in Wingate, to Alfred Marion and Ina Louise (Mount) Hightower. He married Cynthia Ellen Hanthorne June 25, 1966, in Linden. She preceded him in death on November 4, 2013.
Mr. Hightower was retired from United Parcel Service after 30 years of employment. While at UPS, he was a Distinguished Member of the Circle of Honor and received the 30 Year Safe Driving Award. He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, where he served in the Eucharist Ministry; he attended Coal Creek Central Schools; was a US Army Veteran; was a member of the American Legion Post #72; and was active in the Montgomery County 4-H Program as a 4-H Leader and as a worker for many years at the Indiana State Fair.
Mr. Hightower is survived by his sons: Stacy (Lisa) Hightower, Marshall, and Chad (Erica) Hightower, Fishers. Also surviving is his sister: Pat (Bill) Nall, Crawfordsville; 5 grandchildren: Reece, Riley, Brock, Brady, and Bella. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 1, at 11:00 AM at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 1306 E. Main St., with Fr. Dennis Fakker officiating. Cremation will follow services with a family committal service to be held at a later date in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday, February 28, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Memorials may be made to: Montgomery County 4-H, 400 Parke Ave., Crawfordsville, IN 47933, or to : Guardian Angel Hospice, 1221 S. Creasy Lane, Lafayette, IN 47905. Military rites will be conducted at the church on Saturday by the VFW and American Legion Posts of Crawfordsville
