Frank Moore

Frank M. Moore, 98, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Whitlock Place. He was born on January 29, 1926 to Willie and Esther (Hood) Moore in Waveland. Frank married Lyda "Lucy" McMahan on August 21, 1948 in Crawfordsville, spending 74 loving years together until her passing in 2022.

He was a graduate of Darlington High School, Class of 1944. He served in the US Army Air Force with the #509 Bomb Squadron during WWII. He worked at R.R. Donnelley, retiring in 1982 after 38 years. Frank was a member of the Crawfordsville American Legion, Post 72.

Frank had a lifetime love for Indiana University basketball and Chicago Cubs, finally getting to see them win a World Series! He enjoyed gardening, playing euchre with his good friends at Whitlock place and spending time with Leo, River and Grayson.

Frank is survived by 2 daughters, Brenda Cox of Lees Summit, MO and Becky O'Hair (Ernie) of Crawfordsville; 3 grandchildren, Sara Strickland (Brian) of Lees Summit, Eric O'Hair (CJ) of Crawfordsville and Kenzie Blackburn (Rob) of Clinton; and 5 great grandchildren, Leo and River O'Hair, Grayson Blackburn and Zach and Gavin Cox.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy; parents; son-in-law, Dave Cox; brother, James Moore; sisters, Edna Krukewitt and Wilma Paddack; sister-in-law, Nora Moore and brothers-in-law, Barton Paddack and John Krukewitt.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S Washington Street in Crawfordsville from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Oak Hill North Cemetery with military honors presented by the United States Army.
