Garland Eugene Millikan

Garland Eugene (Gene) Millikan, age 85, of Kingman, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, November 18, 2013 at 7:02pm at St. Vincents Hospital in Indianapolis. Gene was born in Tangier, IN on August 8, 1928 to the late Vernon J. and Mary Bell (Thomas) Millikan. He graduated from Tangier School then married the love of his life, Frances (Burch) Millikan in Mt. Carmel, IL, who survives.

Together Gene and Frances owned and operated Gene's Farm Supply in Kingman for over 51 years. Gene was hardworking, loved competing in tractor pulls with his Minneapolis Moline, enjoyed working in his shop on his tractors and semi's and could find a way to fix anything. Gene and Frances attended the Rockville Christian Church.

Gene's favorite pastime, besides spending time with his family, was enjoying people. He was one that knew no stranger and really loved to visit and talk about the good old days. Over the years he made many friends and truly cared for them. He will be missed and remembered by many.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Frances (Burch) Millikan of Kingman; three sons, Raymond (wife-Linda) Millikan of Terre Haute, Paul (wife-Angie) Millikan of Hillsdale, and Jim (wife-Jennifer) Millikan of Kingman; 12 grandchildren, Scott, Mia, David, Darrin, Samantha, Brandi, Dayci, Brody, Dalton, Josh, Morgan, and Molly; and 5 great-grandchildren, Jayda, Sarah, Hannah, Korbin, and Jaia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 7 sisters, his daughter Anita Sanders, and his son Andy Millikan.

Family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00pm on Friday, November 22, 2013 at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, Kingman. Funeral services will be at 10:00am Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Don Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow at Kingman Fraternal Cemetery.
