Garrett Lee Busenbark

Garrett Busenbark, 68, of Crawfordsville, died at 12:15 AM, Thursday morning, September 28th, 2017, at the St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.He was born at Culver Hospital to Kenny and Dorothy (Miller) Busenbark, on June 30th, 1949. He had a twin sister, Teresa Busenbark Cotten, who survives.His Mother died while Garrett was a baby.His Step-Mother, Elsie Busenbark, raised the twins.

Garrett had 2 half-sisters: Judy Estep and Sharon Verhey; 1 half-brother: Joe "Freddie" Fry; 3 step-brothers: Ernie, Larry, and Billy Joe Priebe; and 3 step-sisters: Nancy Stephens, Jerry Priebe, and Judy Jordan.He was preceded in death by his Mother, Dad, and loving Step-Mother; his sister: Sharon Verhey; his bothers: Joe Fry; Ernie, Larry, and Billy Joe Priebe.

He was first married to Sue Williams. They had two sons: Garrett Jay and Larry Dean Busenbark.They divorced and Sue married Jerry Rasmussen,who later adopted the boys and changed their last name to Rasmussen. He then married Dorothy Chapel and got a lovely step-daughter: Rhonda Roach. They later divorced.

Garrett lived around Crawfordsville for several years and when his health declined, he became a resident at the Lane House Nursing Home for the last two years. He worked at R.R.Donnellys for several years and quit due to his declining health.He had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.He was an extremely hard worker and loved anything to do with farming. Working with his brother-in-law, Jim Jordan, in the hayfield, was a true joy for him.He talked about driving semi trucks constantly.Playing pool as he got older, was his favorite past time.

There was not a kinder soul in the world. He would do anything for anyone.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, October 2nd, at Noon, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Pastor John Cornell officiating.Burial will follow in the New Ross Cemetery.Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM until the service time.
