Gayle Jane (Burgess) Mann, age 62, of Kingman passed away on Wednesday November 26, 2014 of a heart attack while vacationing in her favorite place, Las Vegas, to see her favorite basketball team, The Fighting Illini, win the tournament. She was born in Danville, IL on October 8, 1952 to the late Louis B. Burgess Sr. and Mary E. (Allison) Rouse.
She graduated from Jamaica High School in 1970 and married Robert T. Mann on April 26, 1979 in Danville IL. She worked and retired from TeePak in Danville IL after 38 years. She was a member of the Kingman American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Gayle loved to cook, can salsa, and watch the Food Network. She loved watching Illini basketball, working outdoors in the garden, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to talk, never met a stranger and will be remembered for her delicious noodles, wonderful sense of humor, contagious smile and boisterous laughter.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert "Tom" Mann of Kingman; a daughter, Melissa (Jason) Warner of Oakwood, IL; stepchildren, Tommy (Sue) Mann of Brownsburg and Michelle (Bruce) Ratcliff of Kingman; a sister, Carolyn Alden of Nacogdoches TX; a brother, Louis B. Burgess Jr. of Westville IL; six grandchildren, Miss Peyton, Allyn, Shayne, Janice, Dillon, Bradley; a niece and several nephews and many cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter Chelsea.
Family will receive friends from 5-8pm on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street in Kingman. Funeral services will be at 11am on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Lyons officiating with cremation following. Sanders Funeral Care entrusted with care.
