Gene Gleason

Mr. Gene Lewis "O'Hickory" Gleason, 85, Crawfordsville, passed away Wednesday, January 23, at 7:12 PM, in Franciscan St. Elizabeth Hospital, Crawfordsville. He was born January 18, 1928, in Crawfordsville, to James and Mabel (Wilson) Gleason. He married Evelyn Jane Mikels, September 25, 1948 in Crawfordsville. She survives.

Mr. Gleason retired from R R Donnelleys; was a 1946 graduate of Crawfordsville High School; was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church, Crawfordsville; and was a Military Policeman in the U. S. Army and the Indiana National Guard.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter: Wendy (Lee) Eggleston, Crawfordsville; sons: Michael (Ginny) Gleason, Crawfordsville; Brent (Judy) Gleason, Martinsville; and Timothy (Stephanie) Gleason, Crawfordsville. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: William and Charles.

Cremation was selected with the family greeting friends at a "Celebration of Life Reception" to be held on Saturday, February 2, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, at the East Side Baptist Church, 2000 E.
