Gene P. Marshall, age 71, of Lodi, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at 8:54am at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. Gene was born in Indianapolis on March 25, 1942 to the late Ola and Ivah (Jackson) Marshall. He attended Tangier School and Turkey Run High School and served three years in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. On December 10, 1961 he married the love of his life, Sue (Atterbury) Marshall, in Lodi, who survives.
Gene retired from Teepak in Danville IL after 40 years. He also ran his own lawnmower repair shop and a bait shop. He is active at the Mt. Hermon Bible Church where he served as a deacon and adult Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and building bird houses, loved his grandchildren and great-grandchild, and loved singing for his Lord.
He is survived by his wife, Sue (Atterbury) Marshall of Lodi; one son, Rick (Cammie) Marshall of Tangier; one daughter, Cindy (Mark) Miller of Shirley, IN; 6 grandchildren, Layne, Ethan, Sam, Kelsey, Seth, and Olivia, and 1 great-grandchild, Cade.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janet Grovier.
Family will receive friends from 4-8pm, Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, Kingman. Funeral services Friday, June 7, 2013 at 11am with Pastor Jon McLain officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery with military honors provided by the Kingman American Legion. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Hermon Bible Church.
