George Forrest Smith

Rev. George F. Smith, 94 years old, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville. Born December 18, 1928 to Joseph and Viola (Harris) Smith in Evansville, IN. He married Joan (Oran) Smith, and she preceded him in death on August 7, 1966. He then married Vivian (Harlan) Smith, and she preceded him in death on April 6, 2003.
George served in the US Navy abord the USS Tanner in WWII. He was in the ministry for over 50 years, serving in local churches including The Church of God on Grace Avenue in Crawfordsville and the Elmdale Community Church.
George had 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great grandchildren. His children and grandchildren were the love of his life, and he will be missed by all.
Survivors include his children, Michele Page (Jr.) and Terry Smith (Jackie) of Crawfordsville, Georgianna Patton (Scott) of Wilder, Idaho and Patty Beck (Ron) of Zionsville. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, brother, sisters, daughter, Linda, son-in-law, George Stevens and granddaughter, Stacy Smith.
Cremation has been chosen with a Memorial Service to be held on Saturday, July 29th, 2023 at 11:00 am at Whitesville Christian Church. Share memories and condolences at www.SandersFuneralCare.com.
