George Leon White, age 81, of Hillsboro passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health in Lafayette. He was born in Hillsboro, IN on September 5, 1936 to the late Clyde T. White & Colistabel (Donham) Grimes.
He graduated from Richland Township School and proudly served in the United States Navy. On April 22, 1974 he married the love of his life, Annie Louise (Davis) White, who survives. He was a truck driver for over 55 years and shared 14 of those years with Annie in the truck. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Veedersburg. George loved the Apple Tree Restaurant, where he could be found at least 3 times a day; loved drinking coffee and tinkering with his tractor, but most of all loved spending time with his wife and family.
George will be missed by his wife, Annie; 4 sons, Homer “Skeeter” (Patti) Myers, George Jr. (Kelly) White, Curtis White, and Bob White; his brother, Steve (Sandy) Grimes; 4 grandkids, Curtis Jr., Alex, Brianna, and Leslie; and one great-grandchild, Sawyer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cristal; and brother, Charles “Tom” White.
Cremation was chosen with a visitation at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, in Kingman on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 1pm till the time of the memorial service at 2pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, 408 N US Hwy 41, Veedersburg, IN 47987. Sanders Funeral Care entrusted with care.
