Mr. Gerald G. "Red" Hart, 83, passed away Sunday, March 26th, at 12:48 PM, in the St. Elizabeth East Hospital, Lafayette. He was born November 2nd, 1933, in Ladoga, to Raymond G. and Mabel (King) Hart. He married Jane Smith on October 30th, 1952, in Ladoga. She survives.
Red was a R.R. Donnelley retiree, retiring in 1994, after 40 years of service. He was a 1952 graduate of Ladoga High School; a member and past Deacon of the Crawfordsville First Christian Church; a member of the American Legion; and served 2 years in the U.S. Army, spending 16 months in Korea, where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. In his free time he loved to travel with his wife.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 2 sons: Gary (Rosy) Hart, and Michael (Becki) Hart, both of Crawfordsville. Also surviving are his 3 grandchildren: Lance, Jennifer, and Marcee; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 PM Thursday, March 30th, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Pastors Steve Whicker and Matt Reno officiating. Burial will follow in the Ladoga Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:30 AM until 1:00 PM. Military Rites will be conducted by the American Legion and VFW Honor Guard and the U.S. Army at 1:15 PM Thursday.
