Mr. Gerald E. Wilbur, 88, Crawfordsville,passed on to his Lord on January 25th, at 1:39 AM at the Ben Hur Nursing Home. He was born to John and Rebecca (Kirby) Wilbur in the rural Wallace area on July 14th, 1927.
Gerald was retired from Indiana Bell Telephone Company. He was a member and Deacon of the Alamo Christian Church; a member of the Alamo Masonic Lodge #144; a member of the Bryon Cox American Legion Post #72, Crawfordsville; and was a U. S. Navy Veteran.
He married his wife, Ramona Flesher of Frankfort on September 30th, 1950. She survives along with their son, Terry E. Wilbur of New Ross; and their adopted daughter, Donna Marie Jones of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Also surviving are his grandson, Cody L. KaSheena) Wilbur, and granddaughter, Amber (Dan) Starcevich, as well as 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers: Cecil, Elmer, Virgil, Donald, and Ronald; 4 sisters: Inez, Margaret, Elsie, and Clara.
Cremation was chosen with a Memorial Service to be held at the Alamo Christian Church on Friday, February 12th at 4:00 PM. The family will greet friends at the church on Friday from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
