Glen Edward Evans, age 82 of Crawfordsville passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at home. He was born in New Richmond on May 21, 1937 to the late Reid Estel & Zella Mae (Wells) Evans and was the sixth of seven children.
Glen graduated from Roachdale High School in 1955 and proudly served in the United States Army from 1960-1963 and was stationed in Germany. He worked at R.R. Donnelly’s for 40 years and was a member of the Ladoga Baptist Church. On March 29, 1986 he married Anthelene Black, who preceded him in death on April 7, 2014. Glen had a huge heart and loved volunteering at the hospital. He was Red Coat Volunteer at the hospital for many years. He loved the bible and could quote many bible scriptures.
He is survived by a brother, Fred Evans of Crawfordsville and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anthelene; three brothers, Herman Harold Evans, Paul Ross “Chic” Evans, and Donald Eugene Evans; and two sisters, Leota “Bobbie” Auffenorde and Mary Crawforth.
Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S Washington Street in Crawfordsville on Saturday, January 4, 2020 from 10:00am till the time of the funeral service at 11:00am with military rites by the National Guard and Legion Post 72 Honor Guard.
