Gloria Ann Poynts

Mrs. Gloria Ann Poynts, 86, Crawfordsville, and formerly of Parkersburg, passed away Sunday, November 8th, at 2:18 AM, in the Williamsburg Healthcare. She was born April 6th, 1929, in Indianapolis, to Chester and Elsie (Summers) Ryan. She married William E. "Bill" Poynts on April 6th, 1947, in Parkersburg. He preceded her in death on September 30th, 1991.

Gloria was a Homemaker and Farm Wife; was the owner with her husband of Poynts Garage & Grocery in Parkersburg for 10 years; and was a Real Estate Agent for Woodall Realty, Patterson Realty, and Action Realty. She was a 68 year member of the Parkersburg Christian Church; a 1947 graduate of Roachdale High School; and her hobbies included reading, sewing, cooking, and most of all being with her grandkids.

She is survived by her daughter: Sherry (Jim) Hargis, Ladoga; grandchildren: Rachel Maddox, Ladoga; Amber (Nick) Grimes, Ladoga; Cody (Kandora) Hargis, Crawfordsville; great-grandchildren: Ashlynn, Landon, Owen, and Bennett. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son: Roger in 2014; her parents; and her sister: Wanda Ryan.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Thursday, November 12th, at the Parkersburg Christian Church, 86 E. 1150 S., Ladoga (Parkersburg), with Pastor Rich Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in the Indian Creek Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 11th, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
