Mrs. Evelyn Young, 77, Crawfordsville, passed away Wednesday, January 21st, at 10:25 AM in the Franciscan St. Elizabeth Hospital, Crawfordsville. She was born September 22nd, 1937, in Clinton County to Elvin David an Cora Ellen (Robbins) Scolley. She married Dale Richard Young on November 6th, 1958, in Frankfort. He survives.

Mrs. Young was a retired Registered Nurse, having worked for the Greenacres Medical Group; St. Clare and Culver Hospitals; and the Individualized Care Management Company of Lafayette. She was a 1955 graduate of Rossville High School and a 1958 graduate of the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, Indianapolis. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Crawfordsville and in her free time enjoyed traveling.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters: Beth (Brian) Hedge, Crawfordsville; April White, Crawfordsville; Karen Young, Albany, Indiana; Jerri (John) Fryar, Rio Rancho, New Mexico; her son: Jeffrey (Petra) Young, Denver, Colorado; sisters: Ruth (Richard) Sosnovski, Merrill, Wisconsin; Georgia Black, Frankfort; brothers: David (Irma) Scolley and Charles (Janie) Scolley, both of Gleason, Wisconsin. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters.

Cremation was selected with a Memorial Service scheduled for 7:00 PM Monday, January 26th,at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Rev. Michael Whitacre officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 PM until the service time. Memorials may be made to: The Montgomery County Free Clinic, PO Box 86, Crawfordsville, IN 47933
