Kingman

Harlon Williams, age 79 of Kingman, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at OSF Hospital in Danville, Illinois. He was born in Walter County, Alabama on October 20, 1943 to Ervin Walter & Mary Emily (Anderson) Williams. He married Christal Carrigan-Smith on December 31, 1980 in Stone Bluff, she survives.

He is also survived by their kids, Dana (Jeff) Brames of Evansville, Matt (Carrie) Smith of West Lafayette, Stephanie (Josh Howard) Williams of Lafayette, and Tanner (Nikki) Williams of Kingman; 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Judy (Keith) Klett and Norma Jean (Mel), both of Danville, Illinois; sister-in-law's that loved him like a brother, Rita (Teddy) Kingrey and Donna (Dennis) Meeker; and many nieces and nephews that he loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother in-laws, Robert & Doris Carrigan; and three brothers, Rayburn, Allen, and Alton Williams.

Harlon attended Danville High School and later achieved his GED. He worked at General Motors for 30 years performing many different jobs. He enjoyed spending time with his family and raising, training, and showing horses. He started young with horses and later became very good at it. He loved training and caring for many other horse lovers.
Harlon never knew when to just sit and was always busy doing something. He later worked for farmers and neighbors, had a green thumb, and could be found wearing his bib overalls in the big gardens he planted. He has touched many lives quietly through horses and just being a great neighbor everyone should have.

Per his request there will be no funeral services. He just wanted to ride that big Quarter Horse off into the sunset.
