Hazel Mae Ray, 85, of Ladoga, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2010, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 5, 1925, in Lincoln County, Kentucky, to Everett Williams and Ethel (Day) Williams. She married Alvin A. Ray on June 11, 1945. She worked as a cook at the Ladoga Nursing Home for several years, but her life was devoted to raising her 9 children and grandchildren and serving others.

She was a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Crawfordsville, Indiana, where she served in many callings. She served as Relief Society President for 8 years and also served 7 years on a mission in the Chicago, Illinois LDS Temple.

She is survived by her loving husband, Alvin Ray, of 65 years; six Daughters: Saundra Haste, Eubank, KY; Linda (Stan) Himes, Crawfordsville, IN; Brenda (David) Noe, Manchester, TN; Theresa Priebe, Crawfordsville, IN; Regina (Jeff) Hiatt, Muncie, IN; Tonya Qualls, Crawfordsville, IN; also two sons: Paul (Pati) Ray, Lexington, KY; Arnie (Beth) Ray, Crawfordsville, IN. She will be greatly missed by her 24 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren

She also leaves behind two brothers: Oscar Williams, Crawfordsville, IN; Carson Williams, Seattle, WA.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Oddist Williams and Paul Williams; her son, James Edward Ray; a grandson, Clay Priebe, and great grandson, Josh Vanhook.

There will be two visitations. One will be held at Powers Priebe Funeral Home, on Saturday, September 4, 2010, from 5:00pm - 8:00pm. Also, friends may call one hour prior to service located at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1086 N. 125 West (Oak Hill Rd), Crawfordsville, IN.

Funeral Service will be held on September 5, 2010 at 3 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
