Helen Florence Brook

Helen F. (Mitchell) Brook, age 95, of Lodi, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the Waters of Covington. She was born in Rogersville, TN on October 6, 1921 to the late John & Elizabeth (Hawkins) Mitchell.

Helen graduated from Tangier High School and married Ike Kesner, who preceded her in death. On October 29, 1971, she married Frederick Brook, who preceded her in death in 1994. She was a housewife and had worked at the Parke County Nursing Home and was a member of the Waterman Baptist Church. She was very active in the church and enjoyed cooking, flowers, tending to her garden, traveling to Hawaii, and taking care of her family.

She is survived by her son, Gary Brook, of Lodi; a daughter, Joyce Torres of Wisconsin; seven grandchildren, Tammy, Lorie Ann, Vivian, Billie, Freddie, Ben, and Issac; numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Donna Willman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Ike and Frederick; one brother, Cecil; four sisters, Mary, Martha, Sidney and Edna; and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 12:00pm at the Waterman Baptist Church, 8560

W State Road 234, Kingman with Pastor William Lehman officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00am till the time of service.
