Mrs. Ilene (Pickett) Elliott, age 86, passed away at 7:15 PM Friday November 16th at Lane House Nursing Home, Crawfordsville, In.
Born on May 17, 1926 the daughter of Gilbert H. and Helen M. Stonebraker Pickett of Alamo. She graduated from Alamo High School and then married Joe Walter Elliott on April 7, 1945. He preceded her in death on November 6, 2001.
She worked as a Nurses Aid for many years at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville and then did clerical work for American Water Co. She was a member of the Browns Valley Christian Church, the Alamo Order of Eastern Star, and the Elks Aux. She lived in Florida for a number of years and delivered Meals on Wheels. She returned to Crawfordsville in 2003.
She is survived by her son Larry (wife- Karen) Elliott of Rutland, Vermont; Daughter Charlotte (husband-Bernard) Fekete of Ann Arbor, Michigan; Son-In-Law Ceasar Watkins of Indianaplois, In. Also her twin sister Wandalene Petry of Waveland, In. and 6 grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, daughter Sandra Watkins, sister Mary Evelyn Kinder and brother William Leroy Pickett.
Funeral services for Ilene will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday November 20th at Shoemaker Funeral Home with the Revs. David Finch and Dorman Winger officiateing. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery North. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 8:00pm Monday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the services on Tuesday. Donations may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
